Dr. Jessica Hammerman holds a Ph.D. in history, and she has two decades of experience editing for writers of all kinds—academic, non-fiction, fiction, and textbooks. She has worked as an editor for Penguin Putnam and W.W. Norton, and has also served as a copyeditor for several national magazines, including Condé Nast Traveler, Time Out New York, and Playbill. She lives in Bend, Oregon, with her husband, Isaac, and her two children, where she teaches world history.

With twenty years of experience in digital design, art, and book layout, Isaac is the heart of Emerald Book design. He has designed books and built websites for authors of fiction, faith books, science fiction, and textbooks in subjects ranging from technology, health, and blockchain. He has published books for himself and other authors. With an MFA in fine art, he brings an artistic eye to all of his design and photography projects. He is also the editor for children’s books at Emerald Books and Cup & Quill.

Dr. Linda Tucker, founder and CEO of Emerald’s editing partner Cup & Quill, has a PhD and an MA in English from the University of Alberta, and a BA in English/Humanities from York University. She is an English professor with over twenty years of experience teaching literature and writing courses at the university level. Linda is the author of Lockstep and Dance: Images of Black Men in Popular Culture (2007) and a certified life coach. In her non-writing life, Linda is a CrossFit enthusiast and an animal lover. She shows Registered American Paint Horses at the regional and world level in both Western and English events. Born and raised in Canada, Linda moved to the U.S. in 2003 and resides in southern Arkansas. “Linda took my mangled grammar and, with her understanding of the subject matter, and her amazing ability to rewrite, she recreated a document that I am now able to send to others to solicit collaboration on a project that is very important to me.”  Read on for more reviews.
